"What an exciting time we had last week at the club hosting this years secondary schools tournaments for years 7-9 once again. Teams from 5 local schools entered and the standard was excellent all round, especially for the schools who rarely play matches. These schools were Basildon Academies, Beauchamps, Bromfords, Mayflower and Woodlands

In year 7 we were pleased to have both Woodlands and Beauchamps entering 2 teams showing how popular rugby is becoming. The result was very close with Woodlands A+B winning gold and silver with the narrowest of margins, but almost every game was fiercely contested.

In year 8 woodlands again won gold, with Mayflower taking silver, however, both teams had to work hard to overcome their opponents who showed plenty of determination throughout the afternoon.

In year 9 woodlands once again won the gold with Basildon Academies taking the silver and doing really well for the first time in quite a few years!

We would like to thanks all the players and PE Staff that took part and all of our own coach volunteers: Dusty, Russ H, John Chapman, Dean Barter, Grant Bayliss and Phil Norman with Andy Tillson and Gav Kirkum for 1st Aid cover and Kelly & Kelly in the clubhouse."
